Stray Pirate

Describing itself as a “dog-inspired sunken pirate ship cocktail lounge located at the bottom of the ocean,” Stray Pirate is the full Tiki experience and the best-looking Tiki bar in Vegas. No detail has been missed here, from the leather-bound menus to the pirate flags in the drinks – it feels like you’re walking into a film set.

Outside, the pirate theme continues, with a canon on the sidewalk and a wooden panelling covered with rope where you might expect the bar name. This is not a hidden bar by any means, but it blends nicely into the aesthetic of the Arts District, and it isn’t immediately obvious that it’s a bar.

Bar staff are friendly and attentive, plus they mix a great cocktail. The Mai Tai isn’t too strong and is nicely balanced, while the Painkiller uses their homemade coconut milk. The glassware isn’t your typical Tiki mug but is classy and keeps to the theme. There’s also a load of merch on sale.

This is one not to miss if you’re in town.
